4th Annual Women's Murder Club Day

Some time ago I wrote this little drabble/fic/poem, call it what you will, and I thought I’d post it today for Women’s Murder Club Day. When I wrote it I knew who said what, however today, I’m not sure. The usual suspects are represented, but for a couple of exceptions, I really don’t remember who is supposed to have said what ;) So feel free to use your own imagination and take a guess; they are no bad answers.

In Six Words

One day Boxer will love me

One day I will tell her

One day they will leave us

One day I’ll pronounce them married

One day she'll know I knew

One day we will double date

One day they will be godmothers

One day I'll be the boss

Will one of you feed me?

WMC DAY FIC

Title: Cindy Turns Thirty
Author: qbeck
Fandom: Women's Murder Club
Pairing: Lindsay/Cindy
Rating: NC-17: for language and sexual content
Summary: Lindsay wants to do something special for Cindy’s birthday, but things don’t go exactly as planned.

Disclaimers: Characters owned by James Patterson. I’m borrowing them for WMC day.

A/N:  Story written in one night some time ago but never posted. Decided WMC was a good occasion to make it public.  It’s somewhat corny and a little lame, but I believe still enjoyable for a L/C fan ;)  Also don’t believe everything you read. I played around with some historical facts.

Dec. 12th, 2010

Here’s a little something I wrote for demeter94  to alleviate the shopping, baking, and all around holiday stress. In the spirit of the season, we wanted to share it. Not a fic, closer to a drabble but not really ;)

Happy Holidays!

WMC - Farewell - VS3 episode 8 - Finale

“You had me at Virtual Season” That’s what I said in my first review of the VS on September 14th 2008. And they did. For all kinds of reasons, some of them intangible, and like many fans out there, I had never been so heartbroken about a show’s cancellation before. So when I heard about the Virtual Season I was very much intrigued and excited. And I was going to read it no matter what.  After finding out who was involved in creating it, I knew it would be good. I just had no idea how phenomenal it would turn out to be.

Everything about it was exceptional; the characterization, the stories, The KMN resolution.  Multi-layered original characters that served a real purpose; the Halleluiah Man, Lindsay’s grand-parents, Maggie Snow even mischievous lovable Rocky Raccoon.

There were no quick fixes, however, which is what made the whole thing so believable. Everything happened at the right time and with the perfect pacing. Every episode was a genuine joy to read on the Friday it aired and to go over again the next day.

I know I’m going to sound like a broken record of a parrot, but once again thank you to all the writers for never giving up and forging ahead when the blank page and blinking curser might have made it easier to throw the computer out the window. Thanks J for spending what I assume came close to hundreds of hours looking over the same screen caps and making the images fresh again with each new banner. Thank you betas for all the hours spent going over the episodes.

Thank you to random_flores for giving us a remarkably sublime and rewarding series finale.

WMC - Penultimate - VS 3 Episode 7

What makes a great stuffing stuffer? A brand new episode of the Woman’s Murder Club virtual season three! The best part? We got it a week before Christmas. Hiding in Plain Sight episode 7 by mysensitiveside  is a beautifully crafted mystery that keeps you guessing, and by you I mean me, until the very end. And at the very end, once the crime has been solved, he shows up again. Okay not really, but he is mentioned. I don’t think I need to name the series own Voldemort. The thorn in the Club’s side. Do I? And thus it looks as though the Club will be heading to court in the near future. Before that, however, there is another murder to solve.   After the last episode and the Club’s hilarious outing into the woods, it’s back to business as usual, but we’re not completely thrown back into darkness, mysensitiveside  serves up plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, and one particularly awesome mad-dash-after-a- suspect-through-a-crowded-airport scene. Awesome and kind of sexy.   If you haven’t read the latest episode wmc_vs  (and again I ask why not?) there will be spoilers under the cut. Sorry for any weirdness under said cut seems LJ is being a butt. I hope you can still read.        Read more...Collapse )
I’m stealing a line from the episode. Again. Coincidentally, the last time I did that was also for a darandkerry episode; Tempting Fate. Why is that? Glad you asked. Because, frankly, she just keeps coming up and using some of the best lines, so why shouldn’t I ‘borrow’ them ;)

After stopping two serial killers, copycats killers, abusers, and cult leaders the Club truly needs time off to relax and bond over something other than a corps. Thankfully this week, they get it in darandkerry 's episode Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. That’s all they really want, but as the saying (sorta) goes; it’s all fun and games until someone loses consciousness and part of their memory.

When something you read makes you spontaneously respond out loud, I personally believe it’s a sign of a phenomenally written piece. While reading this latest episode I let out many Ha’s!! and Aww’s a couple of Ouches and Bwahahaha’s and a few Uh-oh’s. Oh and lest I forget, one major Huh?! I didn’t get that puzzle thing either. What do you mean, what puzzle thing? Go read the episode! STAT!

There may have been a few incidents which put the Club’s fun on hold, but my own enjoyment of this stellar episode was total.

Last Friday, I was made aware that I have a VS ritual. I hadn’t really acknowledged it as such, but in fact, I do. It usually takes me 2, 2 hours and half to read an episode. It may sound long; I can read 50 pages faster than that. But in the case of WMS VS, why rush a great meal? Every Friday that brings a new episode, I sit down at the computer at 8 sharp, well okay I have to admit that due to unforeseen events, I have been 6 or 7minutes late in the past, but I’ve tried not to let that happen too often. Okay so once I’m in front of the screen, occasionally enjoying an alcoholic beverage that may contain 1 or when I’m feeling particularly adventurous 3 olives, I start my VS process.

Process which consists of opening the previous episode and reading a few excerpts meanwhile hearing one of the actors, in my head, saying “Previously on Women’s murder club...” You may roll your eyes and snicker but I’m telling you, you should try it next time. It works and it’s fun. I usually hear one of the women but Jacobi has snuck in there a couple of times.

Next, I start the staring. I examine[info]grumpybear1031 ’s banner from every angle and analyze every pixel in search of clues. The graphics compliment the episode perfectly and helps with the visualization of the episode. Then the reading begins. Sometimes I take notes of favorite lines or moments, but generally I reserve that for the second reading. That’s what I’ve done for the past 17 episodes, and that’s what I did last Friday for episode 3x05, Shadows of the Past.

A lot went on in this week’s episode. And [info]inspectorboxer brought it. For the seventh time, she brought excitement, action, drama, laughs, romance, warmth, even special guest stars and served them on a silver platter.
